Big Stone Gap, VA – Angellia Monia Fleenor, 72, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Born in Norton, Virginia, she lived most of her life in Appalachia and Big Stone Gap. She was a 1972 graduate of Appalachia High School. She worked for AT&T for about 15 years as an operator. She loved to crochet. She was a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Zachary Lane; parents, Henry and Ethel (Moore) Houston and siblings, Mary Louise Wells, Leo Houston and Estil Ann Caudill.
Monia is survived by her daughter, Mistti Lane (Richard) of Big Stone Gap, VA; siblings, Monroe Houston (Ann) of Big Stone Gap, VA, Denver Houston (Suki) of Big Stone Gap, VA, Diania Houston of Appalachia, VA and Phyllis Adkins of Appalachia, VA; grandchildren, Steven Lane and Cassidy Lane; great grandchildren, Gilbert Lane, Sawyer Lane and Ella Lane and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 11:00 am at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, 5650 Powell Valley Road, Big Stone Gap, VA with Lowell “Cotton” Gardner, Jr. officiating. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 am.
