Big Stone Gap, Va.-Annette Bartee, 85, went to be with her heavenly Father and her children on February 18, 2023.
She was a mommy, granny and sister that was loved beyond words. Her favorite song that she like to sing was “You Are My Sunshine” and she was definitely our sunshine. She loved to dance, listen to country music and watch Lifetime Movies. She will be missed by many but we hope she is dancing and singing with her heavenly family.
She was preceded in death by mother and father, Alfred Curtis and Sarah Huff; husband, George Bartee; her biggest heart break was losing her four children, Marlene (Sis) Lipps, George Bartee, Brenda Williams and her baby, Lance Bartee; sisters, Aletha Lovell and Sue Wells; and brothers, Ralph Huff, JB Huff and Mervin Huff.
Surviving are her children, Garland (Robin) Bartee, Teresa (Jim) Holdway and AJ (Dinah) Bartee; one sister, Dorothy Mullins; son-in-law, Rob Williams; 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Also, her special friend, Red Henry.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Gilliam Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted following the visitation at 7:00pm with Pastor Donnie Pickett officiating.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in American Legion Cemetery at 11:00am. Family and friends will gather at Gilliam funeral Home to leave in procession to the cemetery at 10:30am.
