Duffield, Va.-April Christine “Kristi” Scannell, 52, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Norton Community Hospital, surrounded by her children.
She was born in Melbourne, Fla., and lived in Virginia most of her life. She worked as a Park Ranger at Natural Tunnel State Park. She loved foraging, farming and painting. She loved her children with 110% of her heart. She was a God loving woman.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy (Westfall) Crank; and a brother, Cory Pennington.
Surviving are her children, Jessica Scannell, Gabriel Scannell, Kade Scannell, all of Duffield, and Katana Scannell of Maine; brothers, Billy Pennington and Allen Pennington, both of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Kristi requested cremation and no formal services be held.
