Pound, Va.-Bennie Alexander Steffey, 64, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Norton Community Hospital.
He had lived in Pound for the past 20 years. Bennie was a Heavy Equipment Operator with A & G Coal Co. and Paramont Coal Co. He was a hardworking man, who always provided for his family. He was of Pentecostal faith.
Bennie was preceded in death by his daughter, Missy Lovell; his parents, Roy and Freda (Hurd) Steffey; and a sister, Rebecca Adams.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Pamela Dale Steffey; children, Brian Keith Baldwin, Pound, Va., Tabatha Lovell and husband, Greg, Big Stone Gap, Va. and Max Steffey; five grandchildren, siblings, Bonnie Guinnip (Roger), Evening Shade, Ark., Roy Steffey, Jr. (Tamara) of Pound, Va., Sheila Adams (Rodney) of Whitesburg, Ky., David Steffey (Kathy) of Wise, Va., Freda Moss (Brian) of Elkins, NC, James Steffey of St. Paul, Va., Sarah Mullins (Shawn) of Wise, Va., Michael Steffey, Gate City, Va., Sonja Hartsock of Big Stone Gap, Va., Susan Steffey of Greeneville, Tn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
