Wise, Va.-Bethel Joan Young, 80, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Norton Community Hospital.
She was born in Ft. Blackmore, Va. on December 20, 1940 and lived a majority of her life in California. She and her husband returned to Wise, Va. in 2000. She served in the U. S. Navy as an LPN. She loved her pet dogs, canning and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denny Young; parents, Whetsel and Bernie (Mullins) Gilliam; and siblings, Joyce G. Byrd, Silas Gilliam, Clarence Gilliam and Emory Gilliam.
Surviving are her sister, Shirley G. Willis, Wise, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
