Big Stone Gap, Va.-Brian Keith Barnette, 55, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap. Brian worked as a handyman for most of his life. He was of Holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Wood Barnette; and parents, Paul and Betty Sturgill.
Surviving are his sons, Brian Keith Barnette, Jr., Pennington Gap, Va. and Jimmy Wood, Asheville, NC; two daughters, Robin Stanley, Pennington Gap, Va. and Teresa Stanley, Mars Hill, NC; seven grandchildren, Amber Stanley, Avery Stanley, Christopher Stanley, Foxxy Stanley, Destiny Wells, Marie Elizabeth Adams and Angel Wood; three great grandchildren, Angel Wood, Alduin Sponaugle and Akira Sponaugle; four sisters, Tyra Wilson (Ron), Samantha Horton (Todd), and Angela Sturgill, all of Big Stone Gap, and Tina Anderson (Stovey), Kingsport, Tn.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 6:00pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave., W., Big Stone Gap, Va. The service will follow at 6:00pm with Bro. Allen Williams officiating.
Committal graveside services will be held 11:00am on Wednesday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:20am Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Southwest Virginia Regional Cancer Center, 671 Hwy. 58 E, Norton, Va. 24273.
