Elizabethton, Tn./Dryden, Va.-Broadus Powell Melton, 88, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Chestnut Grove Home for Adults in Dryden, Va.
He was born in North Carolina and lived for most of his adult life in Elizabethton, Tn. He was a U. S. Army Veteran. He worked in the dental industry, alongside his brother, for many years. He was a member of the Roan Street Church of God in Elizabethton, Tn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hope Melton; parents, Lewis and Grace (McKinney) Melton; and siblings, Ella Mae Sluder, Jurrell Smith, Lucy Anders, Vance Melton and Ronnie Melton.
Surviving are his two sons, Rick Melton (Kathy) and Rusty Melton (Michelle), both of Elizabethton; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Lewis Melton, Black Mountain, NC; sister, Laverne Todd (Ed), Claxton, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
