Big Stone Gap, Va.-Carolyn Lee Brooks, 76, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at her home.
Born in Washington, D.C., she was raised in Maryland. She moved to Woodway, Va. in the early 90’s and Big Stone Gap in 2010. She was the most loving, caring, kind, thoughtful, and selfless person. She enjoyed game shows, Facebook, soap operas, paparazzi, jewelry, perfume, and talking on the phone. She loved helping people and had a heart of gold. She was a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Krovich; her parents, Chester and Stella Brooks; and her sister, Joyce Brooks.
Surviving are her three children, Gina Clementson, Germantown, Md., Rick Krovich and Liz Krovich, Big Stone Gap; grandchildren, Nicole, Steven, Ricky, Brett, Lexi, Noah, Tristan, Kolton and Tobias; great grandchildren, Brandon and Cameron; a special friend, Mandie Pearson and an “adopted” son, Greg Coleman of Big Stone Gap.
The family will receive friends 5:00pm – 7:00pm Friday, September 19, 2025, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave., W., Big Stone Gap, Va. The memorial service will follow at 7:00pm with Lowell “Cotton” Gardner, Jr. ministering.
