Cary, NC-Cassie Margaret Dodson, 77, entered into Heaven into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the home of her daughter.
Cassie was born in Eolia, Kentucky to the late George and Beulah Dingus. Cassie was a Christian woman who served the Lord diligently. She was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother. Cassie loved her family, friends and visitors. She will always be remembered for her kind, gentle and loving spirit. We will forever miss her. Cassie graduated from Appalachia High School, Class of 1964.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Dodson, Sr.; her father and mother, George and Beulah Dingus; and her brother, Charlie Dingus.
Cassie is survived by her loving children, Heather Holbrook (Travis), of the home, Stacy Todd Dodson (Maggie), Charlotte, NC, and Lonnie W. Dodson, Jr. (Shannon), Appalachia, Va.; three grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Gracie and Faith Holbrook and Bia Dodson.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave, W., Big Stone Gap. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Greg Townsend, Minister, officiating. Special music will be provided by Dona Mellon, a close friend of the family.
Burial will follow at Glencoe Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
