Pennington Gap, Va.-Catherine Gai (Alafaci) Ward, 54, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at U. T. Medical Center, Knoxville, TN.
Catherine was born in Sydney, Australia. She had lived in the United States since 1999. She was a Financial Representative for Sedgwick I.T. Management Corp for several years. She was a member of Thomas Village Baptist Church, Duffield, Va.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Alf Winter.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Dennis Ward; daughter, Emily Ward, of the home; mother, Narelle (McCoughlin) Winter, Adelaide, Australia; father, Mario Alfaci, Sydney, Australia; sisters, Nikki and Sharon; brother, David; two step sisters; and nieces and nephews, all of Australia.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00pm on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at the Thomas Village Baptist Church, 879 Duffield-Pattonsville Hwy, Duffield, Va. with Pastor Bryan Gunter and Wayne Bledsoe officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm, prior to the service.
