Church Hill, TN/Stonega, VA-Cathy Lynn Clifton, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 13, 2023, at her home.
She was a born and raised in Stonega, VA and had lived in Church Hill, TN for nearly 20 years. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and was always passionate about providing excellent care to her clients. Cathy loved flower and vegetable gardening. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, going to the beach, cooking and baking. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother. Above all, she was of the Holiness faith and enjoyed worship and fellowship in the House of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence M. “Steve” Reed and Olean (Spears) Reed.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Eddie Clifton; daughter, Crystal Clifton (Brianne), Mt. Carmel, TN; one grandson, Michael Clifton; sister, Patricia Scalf (Randy), Jonesborough, TN; brother, Steven Reed, Church Hill, TN; one nephew, Brian Scalf; and one niece, Stephanie McCarty.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am – 1:00pm Thursday, Mar. 16, 2023, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Avenue, W., Big Stone Gap. The service will follow at 1:00pm with the Rev. Jimmy Hammonds officiating.
Burial will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
