Courtney Mark Clark
Church Hill, TN.- Courtney Mark Clark, 80, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
Born and raised in Duffield, Va., he lived in Church Hill since 1981. He was a chemical operator with Eastman Chemical for 35 years and later with BAE (Holston Defense) for over ten years. He was a sports enthusiast, as well as motorcycles and automobiles. He loved music and could recite all information about his favorite artists. He was the consummate girl’s dad, always making time to enjoy his daughters’ games and band concerts. He was a renaissance man in a county boy’s body. Ultimately, Mark loved his wife and daughters and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Glenda Sue (Clarkston) Clark, daughter Robin Clark, parents Charles Bradley Clark and Ruth Ann (Carter) Clark.
Mark is survived by his daughters, Deborah Clark (Trudy) of Winston-Salem, NC.; Tamatha Luehrs (Timothy) of Kingsport, Tn.; Karen Clark of Church Hill, Tn.; Siblings Bob Clark (Nina) of Gray, Tn.; Ken Clark (Sandy) of Church Hill, Tn.; Margaret Boggs (Noel) of Kingsport, Tn.; Dallen Clark (Mitzi) of Church Hill, TN.; Allen Clark (Jane) of Duffield, Va.; Leas Baker (Greg) of Wise, Va.; grandchildren, Summer Clark; Timothy “T.J.” Luehrs; great grandson, Courtland Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, VA. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Greg Baker ministering.
