Wise, VA – Darrell Conly Freeman, 80, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his home. A lifelong resident of Wise, VA, he proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years, being a Vietnam Veteran. Conly worked for Norfolk-Southern for over 25 years and served in many capacities over his career. He loved golf, reading, watching westerns and bluegrass music. He was a Christian.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Laura (Hubbard) Freeman; three sisters and three brothers.
Conly is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Strouth of Wise, VA; grandchildren, Chance Strouth, Destiny Strouth, Colton Strouth, Landyn Strouth, Briar Brown, Jake Freeman, Cody Freeman and Alexis Freeman; a special nephew, who was like a brother, Ricky Gilliam and numerous other nieces and nephews.
