DONALD “DON” KLEINEICK
APRIL 28TH 1958 – JANUARY 11TH 2026

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather “PopPop”, Donald Kleineick, has gone on to his Heavenly Home.
Donald Kleineick, age 67, of Big Stone Gap, VA, received his Master’s call on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was surrounded by his family after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and was an avid dog lover who was rarely seen without his loyal dogs by his side. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth, a milestone that shaped his dedication to community and service. He carried the values of an Eagle Scout throughout his life. He was always prepared, fiercely loyal, and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Dorothy C. Kleineick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dottie Kleineick of the home; one son, Erny Kleineick of Gaithersburg, MD., one daughter, April Riordan, and husband Jarret of Pleasant Garden NC, two grandchildren Emma Riordan and Brady Riordan.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 5:00-7:00pm at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, VA. The funeral will begin at 7:00pm with Pastor Rick Phillips ministering.
The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 11:00am at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, 5650 Powell Valley Road, Big Stone Gap, VA. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those attending are asked to assemble at Gilliam Funeral Home to leave in procession at 10:20am.
