Big Stone Gap, Va.-Earnest Edward Begley, 76, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He lived most of his life in Big Stone Gap but lived in Texas for 20 years, following retirement. He was a coal miner and a member of the U. M. W. A. District 17, Local #7276. He enjoyed working on cars and was a member of a band for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Elizabeth (Wallace) Begley; two sons, Kelly and Kevin Begley; parents, Clarence Riley Begley and Eliza Mae (Stratton) Begley; and a sister, Patsy.
Surviving are his sons, William Keith Begley (Diana) and Eddie Begley, both of Big Stone Gap, and Clarence Ray Begley (Veronica), Fort Worth, Tx.; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings, James D. Begley (Becky) and Clarence Lane Begley (Thelma), both of Big Stone Gap and Elizabeth Ann of Johnson City, Tn.; and several nieces and nephews.
