Eunice Carroll Bishop

Big Stone Gap, Va.-Eunice Carroll Bishop, 101, entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing Home, Duffield, Va.
She was born in Imboden, Va. and lived most of her life in Big Stone Gap. She loved gardening. She was a member of the Appalachia Pentecostal Church, where she, presently, was the oldest living member.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ballard “Bish” Bishop, Jr.; her parents, Ike T. and Ethel (Gibson) Carroll; and siblings, Clyde Carroll, Carson Carroll, Aileen Pennington, Clint Carroll and Bernice Delp.
Surviving are her children, Ronald Wayne Bishop (Tina) and Glenn Edward Bishop (Debbie), both of Big Stone Gap, and Carolyn Bishop Herren (Billy), Christiansburg, Va.; grandchildren Shannon Bishop (Elizabeth), Adam Bishop (Natasha), Allison Lawson (Randall), Aimee Sexton (Tanner), Hayley Herren, Heather Herren (fiancé, Joseph King) and William Herren; great grandchildren, Jordan Bishop, Katelan Bishop, Macee Bishop, Sophia Lawson, Sawyer Lawson, Emmalyn Lawson, Anistyn Lawson and Owen King; brothers, Don Carroll (Norma), Melvin Carroll (Donna) and Curt Carroll, all of Big Stone Gap; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Appalachia Pentecostal Church, 340 Oak Street, Appalachia, Va. The funeral service will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Grayson Cothron and Rev. Roger Barker officiating.
Committal services will be conducted at 11:00am on Friday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, 5650 Powell Valley Road, Big Stone Gap. The family and friends will meet at the church by 10:20am on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family will serve as pallbearers.
COVID-19 restrictions will be observed. Masks and social distancing is required.
