Appalachia, VA – Frances Ann McKinney, 88,passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her home. She was raised in Inman, VA and lived most of her life in Andover, VA. She worked for Kids Central and Head Start, and she worked for Parks Belk in Norton. She liked raising flowers, vegetable gardening and reading. She attended the Christian Life Center Church in Big Stone Gap, VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Delmer McKinney; grandson, Daniel McColgan; parents, Victor and Kathryn Walshock Sklar and brother Joe Sklar.
Frances is survived by her children, Carmella McColgan of Big Stone Gap, VA and Victor McKinney (Susie) of Appalachia, VA; grandchildren, Katie McColgan and Megan Robinette (Dillan) and great-grandchildren, Cooper Coleman and Gillian Falcone.
The graveside service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 1:00pm in the Glencoe Cemetery Mausoleum with Lowell “Cotton” Gardner ministering.
