Big Stone Gap, Va.-Gloria Jean Winebarger, 62, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Baltimore, Md., grew up in Coeburn, Va. and had lived in Big Stone Gap for over 30 years. She loved and was dedicated to her family. She was of Southern Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Johnson.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Gene Winebarger; two daughters, Angela Lawson and husband, Roger, Big Stone Gap and Crystal Winebarger and husband, John T. McCarthy, Kingsport, Tn.; eight grandchildren; parents, William and Mary (Bullion) Johnson, Coeburn, Va.; siblings, Michael Johnson and Teresa McConnell and husband, Daris, Coeburn, and Donna Osborne and husband, Jeff of Pound, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 11:00am – 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave., W., Big Stone Gap, Va. The service will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor James Holcomb officiating.
Burial will follow in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be: Michael McCarthy, Matthew McCarthy, Alex McCarthy, Jason Johnson, Daniel Johnson and Jeff Osborne.
