Harley Richard Durham

Keokee, Va.-Harley Richard Durham, 76, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tn.
Born in Pound, Va., he had lived in Keokee, Va. for 40 years. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Harley served as a deputy and later watch commander for the Lee County Sheriffs Dept. He loved to hunt, fish, watching NASCAR and riding four wheelers. He was of Baptist faith.
He was preceded by his parents, Frank and Mazie (White) Durham; sisters, Norma Wright and Sandra May and brothers, Otis Maggard and Avis Maggard.
Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Maria Durham; children, Travis Durham, Church Hill, Tn., Tara Turner, Church Hill, Tn., Cody Durham and Luigi Colot, of the home; one granddaughter, Reese Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 11:30am – 1:30pm Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave, W., Big Stone Gap, Va. The funeral service will follow at 1:30pm with Rev. Bill Hughes officiating.
Military rites by the Virginia Army National Guard Honors Team and local V.F.W. and D.A.V. posts will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
Gilliam Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Durham family.
