Big Stone Gap, Va.-Harold Wayne Kilgore, 63, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his home.

     Harold lived most of his life in Big Stone Gap.  He was a retired coal miner with the Westmoreland Coal Co., 25 years of service, and was a proud member of the Virginia Mine Rescue Team.  Harold loved sports, drawing and photography of the outdoors.  His door was always open to anyone in need.  He loved sharing his love of animals with young people.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Essie (Belcher) Kilgore; and two brothers, Paul Kilgore and J. B. Kilgore.

     He is survived by his daughter, Miranda Kilgore and her wife, Katrina Kilgore, Big Stone Gap; son, Derrick Kilgore, of the home; grandchildren, Kayley Kilgore, Greyson Kilgore and Lauren Kilgore; brothers, his twin, Darrell Kilgore, Manassas, Va., Carlus Kilgore, Tucson, Az., and Franklin “Buddy” Kilgore, Wise, Va.; sisters, Sue Phipps, Manassas, Va., Shirley Holloway, Jarrett, Va., Helen Godfrey, Richmond, Va. and Pat Connell, Norton, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
