Henderson Stidham

Coeburn, Va.-Henderson Stidham, 97, of the Tacoma Community, passed away peacefully in his home Thursday, December 28, 2023.
He was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Coeburn, Va.
He was a loved father, grandfather and much more. He was a kind and compassionate man who loved his family and friends whole-heartedly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Stidham; his son, Darrell Stidham; and his granddaughter, Bridgette Stidham.
Surviving are four daughters, Phyllis Watts, Brenda (Doug) Collins, Kathy (Wendell) Ramey, all of Tacoma, Va., and Joyce Richardson, Duffield, Va.; three sons, Michael Stidham, St. Paul, Va., Henderson “Junebug” Stidham, Jr. and Ronnie Stidham, both of Tacoma; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandson, Bryson Daniel Ramey; great-great-great granddaughter, McKinley Ramey “his sweet thing;” and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 2:00pm – 4:00pm Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave, W., Big Stone Gap, Va. The service will follow at 4:00pm with Paul Lodico speaking.
