East Stone Gap, VA- James Ray Robinson, 53, passed away at his home on Monday, July 20, 2026. James was born on March 25, 1973 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Norton, VA.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Judge & Samantha Hood and James Edward and Jessie Robinson; his aunts, Mary Cobb, Patricia Colvard and Velma Bobrosky and his uncles, Carl L. Cobb, Sr., Robert Martin Colvard, Sr. and Larry Keith Esteppe, Sr.
James is survived by his parents, Jeryl and Rebecca Robinson of East Stone Gap, VA; sister, Diana Lynn Robinson; nephew, Hunter Lee Estep and future brother-in-law, Marty Estep, Jr.; aunts, Cathy Esteppe of East Stone Gap, VA and Janet Walker of Portsmouth, VA; uncle Steve Bobrosky, Jr. and numerous cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, VA. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Bill Hughes officiating.
The graveside service will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, 5650 Powell Valley Road, Big Stone Gap, VA
