Big Stone Gap, Va.-Jennifer Lavonne “Jenny” Holyfield, 68, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Jenny always had a warm smile and an open heart. She took care of everyone before her own needs her whole life. Her joy came from loving her family and friends. She never knew a stranger and would do anything to help someone. She was creative, hardworking, and dedicated, a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Her top three important things in order: Her family, being home in her porch, and her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her father, M D Pilkenton; and an infant sister, Jenny Lynn Pilkenton.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Jeffery Holyfield; children, Amos Holyfield (Kristen), Johnson City, Tn. and Jamie Lynn Miller (Jonathan), Big Stone Gap, Va.; grandchildren, Cameron Miller and Kyndra Miller; mother, Hazel (Sturgill) Pilkenton, Norton, Va.; siblings, Sheila Pilkenton Rose (Van), Big Stone Gap and Gregory Pilkenton (Sandra), Wise, Va.; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 10:00am on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens with Pastor James Holcomb officiating. The family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50am.
