Eidson, TN-Joan Marie Frazier Bechtold, 71, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at her home, following complications with dementia.
Born in Kingsport, TN, she was raised in the Lynn Garden community. She was a former assistant manager of the Sunoco Convenience Store on Memorial Blvd in Kingsport. She loved her pets, arts and crafts and working puzzles. She was a loving and caring individual. She was a member of New Freedom Baptist Church in Eidson, TN. She also volunteered with missions at Gibsontown Ministries in Kingsport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Dolly (Million) Frazier; and a brother, George E. Frazier.
Surviving is her love and life partner for the past 27 years, her husband, Barry Bechtold; son, Matthew Evan Frazier; step daughter, Mary Ellen Ferrell; grandson, Elijah; great grandson, Isiah; brother, John Ryland Frazier (Pat); sisters, Mary Ellen Salyer and Sybil Ann Manis (Jack); and other extended family, including a special niece, Amy Jenkins.
Joan requested cremation. She would have liked that in her memory, people would help support dementia research by giving to a dementia organization of one’s choice.
