Wise, Va.-Joanne Susan Scott, 61, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Holston Valley Medical Center, following an extended illness.

      She was born in Wharton, New Jersey, lived in Florida for most of her life and had lived in Wise for the past three years.  Joanne loved motorcycles, sand art and making jewelry. She especially had a great love of cats.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Florence Boniface; and her brother, Steven Boniface.

      Joanne is survived by her son, Tyler Scott, of the home; two sisters; niece, Leah Sewell; great niece, Annabelle; and two special friends, Jeannie Sturgill and Angela Leonard, both of Wise.

      Special thanks to Lifecare Ambulance Service and the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center for their care and compassion through Joanne’s illness.
