Big Stone Gap, Va.-Johnny M. Gilley, 86, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap. Johnny served in the U. S. Army. He worked in various positions for the former Foote Mineral, Ring Coal Co., Barnett Contractors, Humphrey Enterprises, and DMME as a Reclamation Inspector.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Gilley and Ella (Hurd) Gilley; and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Smith Gilley; two sons, Tony Gilley, and Chris Gilley (Amiee), both of Big Stone Gap; two grandchildren, Megan Gilley (Chris Rutherford) and Kristen Wireman (Bill); three great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A private graveside service was conducted on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at the Smith Family Cemetery in the Wildcat community.
