Joseph Clay Keesee, Jr

Big Stone Gap, Va.-Joseph Clay Keesee, Jr., 92, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020, at his home.

     Born in Appalachia, Va., he lived most of his life in Big Stone Gap.  Mr. Keesee worked 35 years with the Southern Railroad Co. and was a member of the First Christian Church, Appalachia, Va.  He loved gardening and flowers and his family.

     He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Elma (Watts) Keesee; his parents, Joseph Clay Keesee, Sr. and Cleta Belle (Fleenor) Kessee; and several brothers and sisters.

     Surviving are three daughters, Catherine Andrews (Roger), Virginia Beach, Va., Teresa Rivers (Walt), and Darlene Mullins, Big Stone Gap, Va.; step-son, Michael Maness (Patti), Johnson City, Tn.; eight grandchildren, Michael, Ian, Stephanie, Grace, Frank, Clay, Jason and Lori; one brother, Charles Keesee, Big Stone Gap; and several nieces; and nephews.

     Services will be private.
