Kelly Leigh Bentley
Kelly Leigh Bentley, 54, of Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away on September 26, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born August 24, 1970 in Norton, VA. She attended Powell Valley High School and was a lifelong Viking/Union Fan.
She worked at multiple area businesses, including the former Arwood Auto Parts, General Auto Parts, O’Reilly Auto Parts and NAPA. She and her husband owned and operated B&B Auto Sales and B&B Towing Service. Most recently, she worked in the service department at the former Dotson Chevrolet, BJ Motor Company and Freedom Chevrolet. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
She was very active and supportive of Powell Valley Vikings and the more recent Union Bears. She had a big heart and would help anyone she could. Her grandkids were her world. She loved them unconditionally. She was blessed with a loving family.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Richard Dallas West & Janie Bledsoe West; her paternal grandparents, Glenn James Sexton & Angeline Carter Sexton; her father, James Glenn Sexton, Sr.; her step-father (who was a second Dad to her), William Ray “Bill” Arwood; father-in-law, Beuford Bentley and her son, Brandon James Bentley.
Kelly is survived by her husband of 35 plus years, Gregory “Greg” James Bentley; her son, Casey Lee Bentley & girlfriend Courtney Bishop of Big Stone Gap, VA; her mother, Deanna West Arwood of Big Stone Gap, VA; her mother-in-law, Sandra Bentley of Big Stone Gap, VA; her brothers, James “Jr” Glenn Sexton, Jr. & wife Karen of Dryden, VA and David Adam Sexton & wife Crystal of Wise, VA; sister-in-law, Meshell Austin & husband Tim of Big Stone Gap, VA; grandsons, Camden Bentley of Coeburn, VA and Waylon Bentley of Wise, VA; several nieces and nephews; two special great nieces, Finley and Kinsley Austin; extended family and friends; and special grandchildren, Emory Bishop, Paisley & Falon Fleming, Emberlyn Bishop, Coy Bishop, Emmalyn Summers and Isabella Summers.
The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at First Christian Church, 640 Wood Ave, E., Big Stone Gap, VA. The service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Greg Townsend officiating.
At Kelly’s request, final arrangements are private.
