Big Stone Gap, VA-Larry Allen Messer, 73, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap and was the son of the late, Bascom O. and Martha Roberta (Cole) Messer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Saundra Bullock, Shelby Redford and Shirley Horne; brothers, Randall Messer and John Messer.
Larry is survived by sisters, Delores Bushong, Bristol, Tn., Charlotte Gatley (Robert) and Lana Bailey (Les), both of Big Stone Gap, and Lynn Simmons (Lex), Culpepper, Va.; brother, Gerald Messer (Wilma); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon – 1:00pm on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Avenue, W., Big Stone Gap, Va. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
