Big Stone Gap, Va.-Lora Beth Bowers, 52, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Wise County, Va. Lora was a 1989 graduate of Appalachia High School. She was a heavy equipment operator, insurance agent and car detailer. Lora was a U. S. Army Veteran of Desert Storm. She dedicated her life to her family and friends. She would do anything, within her power, to help those in need. Lora was a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bowers; and a grandson, Rylen Barker.
Surviving are her children, Blissenee McAfee, Church Hill, Tn., Tristan Phipps and fiancé, Kristy Griffin, Wise, Va. and Maelei Phipps, Big Stone Gap; several grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life from 2:00pm – 6:00pm on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Bullitt Park, Pavilion #2 in Big Stone Gap.
