Big Stone Gap, Va.-Martha Ruth Rider, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Norton Community Hospital.
She was a native of Ohio, lived in Texas for several years and had resided in Big Stone Gap since 2006. She was an In-Home C.N.A. for most of her career. She loved writing and collecting family photos. She was a member of the Appalachia Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Rider; daughter, Cheryl Wearsch; and several siblings.
Surviving are her children, Marty Eubanks (Tim), Big Stone Gap, Tom Rider and Dawn Ashby (Jim), both of Loraine, Oh. and Ray Wearsch, LaGrange, Oh.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial graveside service will be held 11:00am on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Glencoe Cemetery with Pastor Alan Collier officiating.
