Big Stone Gap, VA – Mary Anne Franklin-Light passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Holston Valley Hospital surrounded by her family.
She joins her parents, Nell Calhoun and Eugene Franklin and her husband, Jeffery Light.
Mary Anne leaves behind her precious children, son, Brent Gibson and daughter, Christy Chandler (Jim), and the father of her children, Gilford Gibson. She was so proud of her grandchildren making sure she supported them in all their activities; Robbie, Bailey, Gracie, Ryan and Tori Gibson (Keyleigh), Haylee and Emma Chandler, Dylan and Peyton Honeycutt, Allison Branham and great-grandson, Cedric Gibson.
Mary Anne will be greatly missed by her sister, Regenia Egan-Owens, Whitney and Kaylee and her brother, Woody Franklin (Sandy), Katherine, Robert, Tammy, Gina and James; her dear friends, Beckie Tankersley, Phyllis Hunley, and Cathy Barker; her Bible Study prayer warriors at Seminary United Methodist Church and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, VA. The funeral service will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Rochelle Maxwell and Pastor Jimmy Mitchell ministering.
