Big Stone Gap, Va.-Mary Jane Gardner, 83, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Norton Community Hospital.
She was born August 17, 1938 in Stonega, Va. She dedicated her life to caring for her family.
Mary was the daughter of the late, Edward and Callie Sizemore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lillie Owen, Theda Jennings, Bertha Stidham and Sandra Baker; brothers, Fred Sizemore and Echol Sizemore; nieces, Amy Smith and Angie Barnette; and nephew, Derrick Harmon.
Surviving are her two daughters, Durene Halcomb (Mark), Duffield, Va. and Renee Carver (Alex), Big Stone Gap, Va.; grandchildren, Scott Fleenor and fiancé, Fraci Iasci, Leesburg, Va., Brieann Lawson (Ethan), New Windsor, NY, Taylor Vaughn (James), and Hunter Davis, both of Big Stone Gap, Va.; great grandchildren, Chloe Maples, Gainesville, Va., Lillian Lawson, New Windsor, NY, Madison Vaughn, Big Stone Gap, and Eren Lawson, New Windsor, NY; sisters, Jeanine Harmon, Big Stone Gap, Linda Smith (Cloise), Duffield, Va., Patricia Lee, Kathy Hoskins (Frank), and Darlene Barnette (Charles), all of Big Stone Gap, and Joy Toney (John), Kingsport, Tn.; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Tim King.
