Big Stone Gap, Va.-Monika Betty Lane, 56, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, unexpectedly at her home.
She was born in Fort Orr, Ca., lived as a child in Colorado and was a 1982 graduate of Appalachia High School. She received her L.P.N. at Lee County, Va. Vocational School, her A.A.S. in Nursing at M.E.C.C., B.S. with Old Dominion University, and then her MSN FNP from Frontier Nursing University in Louisville, Ky. She worked for Lonesome Pine Hospital for many years and was working for Advance Medical Consultants as a roving nurse practitioner.
She was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Aistrop.
Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Danny Lane; children, Kimberly Lane (James Gill), Kingsport, Tn., Michael Lane (Chasity), Dryden, Va., Seth Lane (Kaley), Big Stone Gap, Chad Lane (Samantha), Lebanon, Va.; mother, Betty Aistrop; grandchildren, Matthew, Gabriel, McKinleigh, Kambrie, Kallan, Weston, Payton and Colton; siblings, Gernot Aistrop, Gainesville, Fla., Everett Aistrop, Seminary, Va., Ronnie Aistrop, Big Stone Gap; Michelle Kelly, Dryden, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are private. Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Lane, Ronnie Aistrop, Everett Aistrop, Jarrod Aistrop, Matthew Reed and Gabriel Bass.
