Nancy Collier

Big Stone Gap, Va.-Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nancy Collier, has gone on to her Heavenly Home. She was 81. Nancy was the heart and home of her family. She raised two children, Teddy and Anita, in a loving Christian home. She was known for her kind heart and generous spirit. Many referred to her as their Prayer Warrior.
She is preceded in death by: father James W. Thompson and mother-Bertha H. Thompson, sisters-Sue Newton (Fred), Ethel Stratton (Roger) and Shirley Benzinger (Dale).
She is survived by: daughter-Anita Collier, son-Teddy Collier, grandson-Christian Collier (Megan), great granddaughter-Anniston, sister-Nellie Honeycutt (Don), along with many special family and friends.
Reading her Bible, volunteering at the church she attended, Appalachia First Baptist Church, and cooking for her family and friends brought her much joy. Everyone that knew her, recognized Nancy’s love for Christ by the way she lived life.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held this Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Appalachia First Baptist Church, 401 Kilbourne Ave., Appalachia, Va. Visitation will be from 12:30pm-2:00pm with the service immediately following. A private family burial service will be at the Legion Memorial Cemetery. Nick Brewer and Robert Hill will officiate.
Pallbearers will be: Teddy Collier, Christian Collier, Joe Stratton, Alex Stratton, Randy Gabbert and Scottie Masters. Honorary pallbearers will be: Don Honeycutt, Ray Craft and Mike Honeycutt.
