Big Stone Gap, Va.-Nancy Virginia Buchanan, 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Lonesome Pine Hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap and had been a resident of The Laurels in Norton, Va. since June of 2019. Nancy worked as a bookkeeper for Pet Dairy. She was a volunteer at the Wise County Food Bank and the Lonesome Pine Hospital Auxiliary, where she served for over 25 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Big Stone Gap, where she was a member of the Ida Driver Circle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Elsie (Pobst) Buchanan; and her brother, Guy Buchanan.
She is survived by special caregivers, Mary Lou and Gary Bush, Appalachia, Va.
Nancy's memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church, Big Stone Gap, on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at 3:00pm with Greg Townsend officiating.
Gilliam Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
