Pamela Lynn "Mamma" Painter

“She is clothed with strength and dignity…She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”- Proverbs 31:26

Pamela Lynn “Mamma” Painter, 68, went to her Heavenly home peacefully on November 28, 2025, hand-in-hand with both daughters by her bedside. Her legacy as a devoted mother and, most treasured, as “grandmother,” will endure and leave a lasting impact on her family. Her life created a beautiful tapestry woven with strength, unconditional love, resilience, compassion, and a laughter and smile that filled every room. Born in Lynch, Ky, she was a graduate of Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Ky, where she played collegiate basketball and sang in the traveling choir. Her lifelong role in healthcare as an RN, Nursing Supervisor at Wise ARH, St. Mary’s and Frontier Health, speaks of her desire to make the world around her a better place as she exemplified care and compassion to all those she encountered. In her retirement, she dedicated her time and love to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Painter and Evelyn Ashbrook of Kentucky. She is survived by her two daughters, Heather Davis and Hannah Bolling (Jeff), her two beloved grandchildren, Landon Davis and Jude Davis, and one precious great- granddaughter, Landrie Wren Davis. She will be missed dearly, but her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on through her family. Her sweet soul is at rest in the presence of Jesus. Her family will honor her with a private graveside (mausoleum) family service at Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap to rejoice and remember all the beautiful moments and memories bestowed upon them by this remarkable woman. Her spirit will live forever with Jesus and in the hearts of all who loved her. To view the obituary online and offer condolences, visit www.gilliamfuneralhome.com or the funeral home Facebook page.
