Big Stone Gap, Va.-Patricia Gail “Patti” Cornett, 71, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Johnson City (TN) Medical Center.
She was a native of Big Stone Gap, lived in California and Florida for several years, and then she and her husband, “Dickie” returned to Big Stone Gap in 2019. She was an elementary school teacher at Appalachia (Va.) Elementary School and The Lighthouse in Santa Monica, Calif. She was a member of Spirit and Truth Church in Big Stone Gap, Va.
Patti loved her family, especially her grandsons, with all her heart.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leanza Cornett; her parents, Hillard and Emma Jean (Lovell) Webb; and one brother, Ricky Webb.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Richard A. “Dickie” Cornett; grandsons, Kai Steines and Avery Steines; siblings, Randy Webb (Janean), Jacksonville, Fl., Kathy Demoisey (Frank), St. Augustine, Fl. and Lisa Gray (David), Gray, Tn.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patti requested cremation.
