Big Stone Gap, Va.-Patty Ann Boardwine, 85, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

     She was a lifelong devout Christian and a giving generous soul who never met a stranger.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and James Tomlinson; her husband of 42 years, Clyde Boardwine; her son-in-law, Patrick Arnold; her sisters, Stella Barker and Vivian Sturgill, and her nephew, Tommy Clemons.

     She is survived by her daughter, Amy Arnold of Big Stone Gap, VA; her son, Scott Boardwine and wife Tanya of Brookings, OR ; her granddaughter, Shelley Arnold of Big Stone Gap, VA; her sister, Peggy Minnick of Sanford, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

     Special thanks to Heritage Hall Healthcare nurses and staff for excellent care over these past few years.  Also, thanks to the staff of Holston Valley Medical Center.

     The family will receive friends at Gilliam Funeral Home on Monday, June 1, 2020 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA.  Family and friends will leave in procession to the cemetery at 1:30 pm.

     Mark Wyatt, Joshua Barker, David Collins and other family members will serve as pallbearers.
