Rev Paul D McMahan

Big Stone Gap, Va.-Rev. Paul D. McMahan, 80, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at his home.
He was raised in Roda, Va., until the age of 12, and then lived most of his life in the Crackers Neck community, He proudly served in the U. S. Army. Paul worked for A. K. Fraley Construction for many years and retired from V. D. O. T. as a heavy equipment operator. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed fishing. Paul preached and attended David's Tabernacle in Appalachia, Va.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Poff McMahan; infant son, James Patrick McMahan; his parents, Rev. Oll and Gladys (Fish) McMahan; and siblings, Curtis McMahan, Junior McMahan, Frank McMahan and Judy Bell Cline.
Surviving are his children, Wayne McMahan (Rebecca), Susan McMahan, both of Big Stone Gap, Va., and Douglas McMahan (Jennifer), Ironton, Ohio; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth McMahan, Big Stone Gap; sister-in-law, Lois McMahan, Kingsport, Tn.; several nieces and nephews; and his devoted canine, “Maxwell.”
Arrangements were private.
