Roger W. Farmer
Burlington, NC-Roger W. Farmer, 80, formerly of Coeburn, Va., went home to his Lord and Savior on August 4, 2021, at Norton Community Hospital.
Roger grew up in Dunbar, Va. and attended Appalachia High School. He was most recently a resident of Burlington, NC.
He was known for his love of sports, such as softball, bowling, shooting pool, cornhole and playing bocce ball with his friend, Gene Perkins of North Carolina, still winning medals for first place, of course.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hicks Farmer; his parents, Art and Julie (Skeens) Farmer; and sisters, Dorlis Galloway and Alma Barnette.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Farmer and David Farmer (wife, Angie); one daughter, Christie Farmer, all of Coeburn, Va.; one sister, Cleta Reim, Dayton, Oh.; six grandchildren, Dustin (wife, Leah), Cory, Harley, Colby, Haley and Mason Farmer; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
