Big Stone Gap, Va.-Rosa Mae Hamrick, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap.
She was born in Winona, W. Va., and had lived in Big Stone Gap since 1973. She was a volunteer with the Lonesome Pine Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Rosa was a member of the Big Stone Gap Order of the Eastern Star #157. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Big Stone Gap, where she kept the nursery, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Hamrick; granddaughter, Stephanie Arney; parents, Jason and Clara (Conrad) Bays; and an infant brother, Richard Bays.
Surviving are her three daughters, Beverly Ramey and Kathy Farmer, both of Big Stone Gap, and Rhonda Jessee (Gregory Babcock), Norton, Va.; one grandson, George “Trey” Jessee, III; sister, Virginia Price, Hampton, Va.; brother, Harry M. Bays (Charlotte), Durham, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
