Wise, Va.-Roy Nelson Taylor, 75, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Norton (Va.) Community Hospital.

     He was born and raised in Wise, Va., lived in Toledo, Oh. for 17 years, and returned to Wise County in 1985.  He was a self-employed Muffler Mechanic for several years.  He was a U. S. Army Veteran of Vietnam.  Roy attended Beverly Hills Tabernacle Church in Wise.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Evans Taylor and Ellen Marie (Moore) Taylor.

     Roy is survived by his former wife of 25 years, Barbara Taylor, Norton, Va. and their two daughters, Ellen Greene (Robert), Derby, Va. and Holly Dickenson (Michael), Big Stone Gap; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; many “grandchildren” and “great grandchildren” he claimed as his own; one brother, Danny Taylor, Norton, Va.; three sisters, Patsy Hensley, Clinchport, Va., Diana Stacy and Shelia Vanover, both of Wise; and several nieces and nephews.

     A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the First Church of God, 10th St., NW and Park Ave., SW, Norton, Va. with Shine Dotson officiating.
