Big Stone Gap, Va.-Samuel Eugene Hamilton, 70, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a native of Norton, Va. before moving to Big Stone Gap. He was employed by the Norton Sewage Plant. Sam loved to fish and work puzzle books. He was a Christian.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Ann Queen; his parents, Robert E. and Alpha Nora (Gardner) Hamilton; a sister, Frances Kesterson; and five brothers, Robert Hamilton, Garland Hamilton, Arnold Hamilton, Jessie Hamilton and Pete Hamilton.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Vanover Hamilton; daughter, Alpha Lee Hamilton, Big Stone Gap; four grandchildren; three step-children, David Vanover, Coeburn, Va., Joyce Mullins, St. Charles, Va. and Carol Vanover, Big Stone Gap; seven step-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Wright, Wise, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Roy Mickels, Wise, Va.
The Hamilton family would like to thank all the friends and family who help with the final expenses.
