Wise, VA; Sarah Angela Mullins, 51, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Norton Community Hospital, with her family by her side.
Sarah was born in Wise, Virginia and was a lifelong resident of Wise. Sarah had a great love for the University of Tennessee football, and softball teams.
Sarah loved fishing, baking many things that her family enjoyed, and she loved her God given family as well as her church family, too. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and also aunt. Sarah was a member of the Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Wise, Virginia, and the congregation will greatly miss her worshiping with them.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Elmer Steffey, Sr. and Freda Blanche Hurd Steffey; and siblings, Benny Alexander Steffey and Rebecca Gail Adams.
Sarah is survived by her husband of 31 years, Shawn Mullins Sr.; children, Shawn Carlos Mullins, Jr., of the home, and Hannah Elizabeth Mullins, of the home; siblings, Roy Steffey, Jr. (Tamara) of Pound, VA, Sheila Adams (Rodney) of Whitesburg, KY, David Steffey (Kathy) of Wise, Bonny Guinnit (Roger) of Evening Shade, AR, James Steffey of Castlewood, VA, Freda Moss (Brian) of Elkin, NC, Timothy Michael Steffey of Elkin, NC, Susan Hipps (Steven) of Greeneville, TN, and Sonja Steffey of Appalachia, Virginia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the Lighthouse Family Worship Center, 145 Lake St, Wise, VA 24293.
