Scotty Balthis

Wise, VA-Scotty Balthis, 54 passed over into heaven’s gate on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. He fought a hard fight against cancer, but God saw that he was tired and called him home.
Scotty attended Lost Creek Church where he gave his heart to God. He said he never had anything make him feel like the power of God. A special thanks to Pastor Reynolds and Lost Creek Church for always checking in on him and the many prayers.
Scotty was a very hard worker, if there was a limit or goal to reach, he always went above and beyond to make sure he beat it. He received many Employee of the Month awards.
His favorite past time was fishing. He loved it. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Surviving are his mom and dad, Freddy and Rita Balthis; brother, Mark Balthis; wife, Tina Fields Balthis; children, Bailey and Keely Balthis; bonus children, Kelsey Futch and Tiara Smith; grandchildren, Brantley and Branson Balthis, Isaiah and Elijah Brock. Briella and Amara Freeman. Shayleigh Merritt; niece, Haley Balthis Clark (Tanner); great nephew Ronan “Ro-Ro;” great niece, Mila; his lifelong friend who Scotty loved like a brother, Jerry Fritz; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A special thank you to the staff at Norton Community Hospital and hospice. They were so good to us.
At Scotty's request there will be no service.
