Sherry Kay Sturgill
Big Stone Gap, VA – Sherry Kay Sturgill, 72, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, with her family by her side, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN, after a hard-fought battle with chronic illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap and a 1971 graduate of Powell Valley High School. She had worked as a bank teller with Dominion Bank and owned Over the Rainbow Clothing Store in Big Stone Gap. She loved cooking and taking care of her family. Sherry was known for her generosity and sacrificial love. She would go above and beyond to provide for the needs of those in her family and community. Sherry loved to give to and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She never arrived at a home without a homecooked meal or gifts for her friends and loved ones.
