Tammy Sue Giles
Big Stone Gap, Va.-Tammy Sue Giles, 59, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She had worked at Robbie’s Market and Huddle House. She loved cooking, gardening and house plants. She was very dedicated to her family, caring for her parents and siblings, along the way. Tammy especially loved being involved with her grandchildren. She loved her dog, “Banchee.” She was a member of Thee Church in Appalachia, Va. and loved the people with whom she worshiped.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Randall Paul Phillips and Mary Sue (Collins) Phillips.
Surviving are her two daughters, Abbey Adams (Jason) and Lyndsay Brooks (Kevin), both of Big Stone Gap; five grandchildren, Devin Brooks, Alyssa Adams, Courtney Brooks, Brady Adams and Aidan Brooks; siblings, Randall “Wheel” Phillips (Vicki), Jenkins, Ky., Jennifer Carroll Appalachia, Va., Connie Pleasant and Richard “Tom” Phillips, both of Big Stone Gap; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00pm – 7:00pm Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Thee Church, 717 W Main St , Appalachia, VA. The Celebration of Tammy’s Life will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Willie Barker officiating.
