Big Stone Gap, Va.-Thelma Paulette Colvard, 74, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn.
She lived in the Norton/Wise County, Virginia area for most of her life, and spent 15 years in Illinois. She was a sales associate with the former Magic Mart.
She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Eugene Colvard; parents, Thomas and Pearl (Collins) Mefford; and a brother, Johnny Mefford.
Surviving are her husband, Russell R. “Turk” Colvard; son, Robert Colvard, of the home; one granddaughter, Alyssa Seals; sisters, Rose Carter, Wise, Va., Sue Bruner, California, Crystal Craft and Wanda Mefford, Norton, Va., and Trish Mefford, Clintwood, Va.; brothers, Gary Mefford, Ralph Mefford and Jack Mefford, Norton, Va., and Danny Mefford, Gate City, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted 1:00pm Sunday, October 25, 2020, at My Father’s Building, Spruce Street, Appalachia, Va. with Pastor Mike Stapleton officiating.
