Big Stone Gap, Va.- Timothy Scott Hubbard, 57, passed away at Bristol Regional Medical Center on Tuesday July 29, 2025.
Tim was born in Norton, Va. He was lifelong resident of Appalachia, VA and Big Stone Gap, Va. He was a Chemical Operator for Eastman Chemical Corp. in Kingsport, Tn. for over 34 years. He loved coaching basketball, softball, and baseball. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and listening to music. Tim enjoyed watching his children participate in sports and even coaching them sometimes. He was a Christian.
Tim is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mellany Collinsworth Hubbard; his children Steven “Dylan” Hubbard, Johnson City, Tn,; Jacob “Wes” Hubbard, of Big Stone Gap, Va.; MaKayla “Lyndsey” McKee (Casey), of Big Stone Gap, Va.; parents, Steve and Patsy “Mitchell” Hubbard, of Big Stone Gap, Va.; siblings, Mark Hubbard (Vicki) of Duffield Va., Kimberly Hobbs (Michael), of Big Stone Gap, Va. and Heather Doyle (Patrick), of Big Stone Gap, Va. ; granddaughters Lacie McKee and Kenzie McKee (expected shortly) and several nieces, nephews, and friends. A special child, Aryanna Blair Sturgill, who loved Tim and the family.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm – 7:00pm Friday August 1, 2025 at Gilliam Funeral Home 618 wood Ave. W. Big Stone Gap, Va. The Service will follow at 7pm with Ryan Hubbard and Dwayne Carroll officiating.
Graveside service will be private. Pallbearers will be Dalton Tackett, Ryan Hubbard, Cody Hubbard, Brandon Parrott, Billy Wireman, Patrick Doyle, Kenneth Flannary and Mike Hobbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Baker, John Brooks and Kory Bostic.
